ACTION ON HEALTHCARE

Healthcare improvement in Georgia continues with the implementation of an action plan to strengthen the primary healthcare system and provide equal access to services throughout the country.

In a recent two day event, healthcare reform achievements were discussed and future measures set in place by the Georgian government, working together with the WHO along with international partners and experts.

“With this reform, primary healthcare actually becomes an advanced link in the entire system, ensuring continuity of patient treatment and equal access to it throughout the country”, says Tamar Gabunia,the First Deputy Minister at the Ministry of IDP’s from the Occupied Territories, which is responsible for regulating the healthcare system in Georgia.

“It’s wonderful to see the face of Georgian healthcare completely changing for the better”, responds COREX Logistics Country Head in Georgia. “Recent changes, including the implementation of this action, will ensure greater accessibility to vital healthcare to all Georgian patients. We’ve come so far already — it’s great to see that primary healthcare will become a vital cog in the wheel of a much improved system in Georgia”.
