Vaccine Refusal

Kazakhstan is set to refuse an offer of humanitarian aid in the form of COVID-19 vaccines from the United States.

The US was set to offer Kazakhstan a million Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines for both children and adults; however, Azhar Ghinyit, Kazakhstani Minister for Health, told journalists that his Ministry had decided to refuse the help, citing the short life span of the drug as the reason.

The Minister also said that there were currently no plans to vaccinate children; however; the option would be considered if the general population expressed an interest.
